Why Geomagic Wrap Is the
Mesh Processing Standard
Geomagic Wrap eliminates the manual mesh repair cycle that kills scan-to-output productivity. Automated hole filling, non-manifold edge repair, mesh smoothing, and noise reduction tools turn raw, imperfect scan data into watertight, printable geometry — with no manual patching required.
Export to every downstream workflow without re-processing. STL, OBJ, PLY, VRML for 3D printing and visualization; IGES, STEP, JT for CAD; E57, PTX for point cloud archives. Wrap outputs directly into the format your next tool expects — no conversion chain required.
Geomagic Wrap is trusted across archaeology, cultural heritage, medical device fabrication, consumer product design, and industrial manufacturing. One tool handles museum artifact digitization, orthotics/prosthetics, custom parts, and rapid prototyping mesh prep — all from a single license.
Scan It. Clean It.
Surface It. Export It.
Load point clouds or mesh data from any compatible 3D scanner. Geomagic Wrap accepts E57, XYZ, PTX, OBJ, STL, ZPR, native Artec, EinScan, FARO, and dozens more — no pre-conversion required.
Automated mesh repair fills holes, removes noise, fixes non-manifold edges, and smooths surfaces. Global Registration aligns multiple scan passes into a single unified mesh without manual alignment targets.
Apply Exact Surface or Polygon Wrapping to convert cleaned mesh data into closed, watertight solids or NURBS-based surfaces. Decimate intelligently for 3D printing or compress for archiving without losing dimensional accuracy.
Output to STL, OBJ, IGES, STEP, JT, VRML, PLY, and more. Hand off directly to your 3D printer, CAD platform, inspection software, or digital archive workflow — no third-party conversion tools needed.

Benefits From Wrap
Geomagic Wrap is the mesh processing choice for teams that need clean, accurate, export-ready geometry without committing to a full CAD reverse-engineering package. It bridges the gap between raw scanner output and every downstream workflow — from additive manufacturing to digital preservation.

Which License Type Fits Your Team?
Every Geomagic Wrap license is configured with one of three activation methods. The activation determines how the license is bound to a machine or shared across your team. The software capability is identical — pricing and portability differ.
ONA ties the license to a specific computer using Hexagon's online activation system. No hardware key required. Deactivate and re-activate when you change machines through the license portal.
OFD stores the license on a physical USB dongle. Plug the dongle into any compatible machine and Wrap activates immediately — no internet required. Ideal for offline, air-gapped, or field environments.
NWA licenses are hosted on a local license server and shared across your network. Any team member can check out a seat when they need it and return it when done. Best utilization for teams with intermittent mesh processing needs.

Not Just a License Vendor.
A Scanning and Mesh Processing Partner.
Sold and supported by Rev1 Technologies. Built by Hexagon / Oqton.
Rev1 Technologies is an authorized Hexagon / Oqton reseller for the full Geomagic software lineup — including Wrap. We configure activation (ONA / OFD / NWA), arrange training, and provide first-project support so your team is processing scans on day one. We run Geomagic software in our own dimensional services lab in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
USA-based authorized reseller for the full Geomagic software family — Design X, Control X, For SolidWorks, and Wrap.
We process scan data using Geomagic tools daily in our own lab. You get advice from engineers who use the software on real parts — not a spec sheet reader.
Rev1 provides classroom ($1,050/person) and onsite ($5,250 for 6) Wrap training, plus guided first-project support to validate your mesh outputs.
Subscription or perpetual, ONA / OFD / NWA — we match the activation to your environment, including USB dongle procurement for OFD users.

Frequently Asked —
Geomagic Wrap
What's the difference between Geomagic Wrap and Geomagic Design X?
Wrap is a mesh processing tool — it takes raw scan data and converts it into clean, watertight polygon meshes or NURBS surfaces for 3D printing, digital archiving, and visualization. Design X is a full reverse-engineering platform that generates history-based parametric CAD models (with feature trees) that you edit natively in SOLIDWORKS, NX, or Creo. If your goal is a CAD model, use Design X. If your goal is a clean mesh for printing, archiving, or non-parametric use, Wrap is the right tool — at a lower price point.
What's the difference between ONA, OFD, and NWA?
ONA (Online Named Activation) ties the license to a specific computer via online activation — no hardware key, lowest price. OFD (Offline Dongle) uses a USB dongle so the license travels to any machine; ideal for offline or field use. The dongle is sold separately at $550. NWA (Network / Floating) hosts a seat pool on your license server so multiple team members can share licenses concurrently — premium pricing reflects shared utilization.
Does Geomagic Wrap have tier editions like Design X Go / Plus / Pro?
No. Geomagic Wrap is a single edition — there are no Go, Plus, or Pro sub-tiers. All Wrap licenses have identical feature sets. The only variables are the activation method (ONA / OFD / NWA) and the purchase mode (subscription, perpetual, or maintenance renewal). This simplifies purchasing compared to Design X.
Subscription or perpetual license -- which is the better value?
Subscription ($3,332/yr ONA) has the lowest entry cost and includes updates and support during the term — ideal for short-term projects or budget-constrained teams. Perpetual ($9,996 ONA + 1st yr maint) is a higher one-time cost but you own the license indefinitely; you renew maintenance ($1,596/yr) only when you want continued updates. Perpetual typically breaks even vs. subscription around year 3 at current pricing.
What 3D scanners is Geomagic Wrap compatible with?
Geomagic Wrap accepts file-based import from virtually all 3D scanners — including EinScan, FreeScan, Artec, FARO, Leica, Creaform, Zeiss, and more. It imports STL, OBJ, PLY, E57, XYZ, PTX, ZPR, and 40+ additional formats. You don't need a specific scanner for Wrap; you import the output file from any scanner after capture.
Can I get a free trial before purchasing?
Yes. Geomagic Wrap offers a 14-day fully-functional free trial. Request access through Rev1 — we'll get you the installer and trial activation, plus a quick onboarding session so you're processing scan data on your own parts from day one.
What formats can Geomagic Wrap output?
Geomagic Wrap exports STL and OBJ for 3D printing; IGES and STEP for CAD; JT for PLM systems; VRML for visualization; PLY and ASC for archiving; and more. The full format library covers every common downstream workflow — additive manufacturing, inspection, digital archiving, and CAD import — without requiring a separate conversion tool.
Does Rev1 provide training for Geomagic Wrap?
Yes. Rev1 offers both classroom training ($1,050/person for 2 days) and onsite training ($5,250 for up to 6 people, 2 days) for Geomagic Wrap. We also provide first-project support so your team is producing validated mesh outputs from your own scan data before we sign off. Contact Rev1 to schedule training alongside your license purchase.
