It depends on whether your FARO arm has a laser scanner head. If your arm has an integrated laser scanner (a "ScanArm"), choose DezignWorks Unlimited — it supports both probing and scanning from the same arm. If your arm is probe-only (no scanner), choose DezignWorks Probing. If you have a separate handheld 3D scanner, choose DezignWorks Mesh Modeler.

The Samson 3D engine is a proprietary 3D processing technology exclusive to DezignWorks. It enables the software to import and process very large polygonal mesh files (STL/OBJ) inside SolidWorks or Inventor without degrading CAD performance.
